So…it’s been a good eight months since I last dropped by the blog for any length of time.

You may not realize this unless you are a blogger yourself, but writing blog posts is just one tiny, tiny piece of the puzzle of running a blog. It has been nice to let everything go on autopilot for these last few months.

I just felt like if I was going to take a break, then that break should be legit. A clean break from computer screens and self-inflicted deadlines. And that is exactly what this blog hiatus was all about.

Though I left you with a blog post about entering a season of rest, I have to be utterly honest with you… these past eight months haven’t just been relaxation for me. Rather, what used to be time spent working on Country Wife Chronicles quickly transitioned into time researching and implementing major lifestyle shifts in the name of #intentionalfertility.

This blog post has been a long time coming. I’ve been bouncing the words around in my head for several weeks now, grappling with how to get my thoughts into readable form.

You may have noticed that I haven’t been around the blog for a while. In fact, I’ve been absent from Country Wife Chronicles for almost a month now.

And while I’ll spare you all the details of exactly how I got here, I will share with you that this was not my original intention for September’s blog posts on CWC. Let me give you a glimpse into my life lately…

Y’all, I have some insane news to share with you…I’m writing an eBook! Well, a devotional eBook, to be specific…Streams in the Wasteland.

Not so long ago, the Lord placed the idea of creating a devotional on my heart. I’ve experimented with some ideas with friends and family over the last couple of years, but this time I’m sharing my creation with the world! I know, it’s still sinking in for me, too.

I feel like I’ve been a full-on hermit living under a rock for the last three weeks as the eBook writing process is nearing completion. Man, writing a book, y’all…it’s an undertaking. One I sorely underestimated!

Biggest lesson in the devotional writing adventure thus far? Don’t procrastinate…and always plan on it taking longer than you think it will. Yup, hard, painful lessons learned on this first go-round.

We are quickly winding down our blogiversary series here at CWC. The month of March will kickoff a whole new series for y’all, but I’ll be getting to that a little later on.

I’ve been having so much fun with this series; I hope y’all are enjoying it as much as I am! I have thoroughly appreciated taking a look back at the history behind CWC, the story of our launch, and sharing some lessons learned over the past year, as well as a few of my favorite blogs to boot.

I still can’t believe it’s been one year. The time has gone by so fast. I feel like we’ve covered much ground over the past year, yet I feel like I have even more to share!
